The Jones and Masland Founders Service Award

Without the vision, passion, and persistence of Hugh and Joan Jones and Dr. Masland, Maranatha-Carlisle wouldn’t exist today. Their diligent, compassionate, and lifelong dedication to the most vulnerable in our community was the inspiration for the Board of Directors to create the Jones and Masland Maranatha-Carlisle Founders Service Award in 2019.

The 2019 Jones and Masland Founders Service Award
was presented posthumously to former Executive Director Cathy Bowers.

Cathy Bowers started with Maranatha-Carlisle as an Account Manager in February 2012. Cathy was named Executive Director in September 2014 and served in that capacity until 2018. No matter what role she was in, Cathy was always encouraging and provided an amazing model for how to serve in faith and with love. Cathy exemplified the exceptional service that Maranatha-Carlisle strives to provide for our clients.

Cathy passed away in October 2018, but was a shining light for Maranatha-Carlisle with her bubbly personality and contagious smile, and we know she is looking down on us from Heaven. Her love and passion for our clients, along with her lifelong dedication to the most vulnerable in our community led the Board of Directors of Maranatha-Carlisle to name Cathy as the inaugural recipient of the Jones and Masland Maranatha-Carlisle Founders Service Award. Accepting on her behalf was her husband Tod pictured left with former board member Tony DeLuca.
