How do I apply? The first thing you need to do is submit an application. You may print a form (application form in pdf format), stop by our office (17 E. High Street, Carlisle) and pick up a form or call our office (717-258-1000) and request a form be mailed to you. When the form is completed you may bring it to our office and drop it through the mail slot (17 E. High Street, Carlisle) or mail it to our office (P.O. Box 1320, Carlisle, PA)
After the form is completed, a counselor, Carolyn Trayer or Miriam Robinson, will call you for an appointment. When you come to the appointment please bring copies of your pay stubs (or other proof of income) all your bills, your picture I.D. and medical cards. Although our office is only open three (3) days a week, your initial interview may be planned at a time to fit your schedule.
We want to help. Maybe you have bill collectors calling, or maybe you know your spending is out of control and just need someone to point you in the right direction. Maybe you already have a plan but just need someone to say, “Yes… that makes sense!”.
Enrolling in our program can help you look at where your money is going and become disciplined in your spending. You learn to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your dollars. Other agencies are often more willing to help if they know you are in our program and we will contact them to fill in the gaps. You learn your self esteem will grow when your bills are paid and you have some money in the bank – not when you buy the latest gadget (you cannot afford) just to keep up with your friends.
